FAQ

Q: Why does GolfSite.sg exist?
A: This site was created as a one stop site for golfers to be able to buy/sell golf clubs at a steal. As they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. A good way to save some money that can be put towards that new club or a basket of balls at the range.

Q: Is membership for GolfSite.sg free?
A: Yes, membership is free for life.

Q: Do I have to pay to post an ad on GolfSite.sg?
A: Posting of ads is free for members.

Q: How do I become a member of GolfSite.sg?
A: You may sign up here.

Q: Can I make a purchase without logging in?
A: Yes, you can respond to an ad by contacting the seller directly through the contact details listed on the ad.

Q: I signed up for an account but didn’t receive the email notification to activate the account. How do I activate my account?
A: You could try checking the “spam” or “junk” mailbox of your account… the email might have been filtered there. If that fails, we would suggest you register for a new account as there could have been a typo in the email address entered.

Q: I cannot seem to click the link in the activation email. How do I activate my account?
A: We have seen this problem with Android phones/tablets/computers. You can either access the email via another machine or you can forward the link to us and we will help you activate the account from our backend.

Q: How many pictures can I upload for each ad?
A: Maximum of 5 pictures per ad. This is to ensure there is enough space for everyone.

Q: I used my phone to take a photo and file is too big. How do I reduce the size?
A: There are a few ways of reducing the file size like using freeware like Picasa. Our favourite way is to email the photo to ourselves as the email will provide an option of saving the photo in a smaller format.

Q: Are there any charges from GolfSite.sg for the sale of my item?
A: GolfSite.sg does not charge commission to the buyer nor seller. No charges.

Q: How do I edit my ad once it has been posted?
A: You can edit your ad from your dashboard after logging in. Locate your ad in the dashboard and you should see an icon that looks like a pencil next to the ad. Click on the pencil and that will bring you to the page that allows you to make edits to your ad. Once you have made the required edits, click the button at the bottom and you’re good to go! :)

Q: I’m not able to edit my posting / Buttons are not showing for me to edit my post / Menus are out of place and text boxes are jumbled together
A: This is caused by a common compatibility problem faced by many sites due to the multiple Internet Explorer versions. If our site is incompatible with Internet Explorer version that you are using, you’ll see the Compatibility View button in the Address bar.

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to “Tools”
3. Uncheck “Compatibility View”
4. Refresh the page and you should be able to edit the posting.

We hope this works as it worked for us. However, if it still doesn’t work, it should be fixed by following the instructions on Compatibility View settings by Microsoft: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10
If all else fails, drop us a mail and we’ll see how we can help. We thank you for your patience in advance! 

Q: What is “WTS”, “WTB” and “WTT”?
A: These are acronyms used to help indicate the purpose of the ad you are posting
WTS – Want to Sell
WTB – Want to Buy
WTT – Want to Trade

Q: How do I delete my ad?
A: For each ad, there is a pause button (“||”) to the right next of the pencil that you can use to “pause” the ad. The status of the ad will change to “[Offline]” – this stops it from showing on the ads listing, but still shows on your dashboard for your tracking. You can relist this ad by clicking the same button again.

Q: How do I increase my chances of making a sale?
A: Providing photos, descriptions of the item (eg.condition, specs, usage) and whether the price is negotiable, all helps help your potential buyer to consider buying your item.

Q: What’s considered to be a good price?
A: Prices are subjective and are at the sole discretion of the seller. However, if you ask us, we’d say a good gauge would be to knock at least 20-30% off if it’s used but in good condition. Do consider the model, brand and season as well as how quickly you want to get rid of it.

An example;
Driver bought last month for $299 can be birdied off at $229 or go for the hole in one at $199.
Driver bought last year for $299 would score a hole in one at $159 for a quick sale.

Q: Tired of the nagging. How do I make a fast sale?
A: Simple. If you look thru the site, you will realise that items that are priced low will sell really fast. Price it low and off it goes. The nagging stops. Priceless.

Q: Would it be possible to ship overseas?
A: Contact the seller directly to check if they are willing to ship overseas. Sellers may also indicate that items are for pick up only.
